Ukraine, Norway sign declaration of partnership

Ukraine and Norway have signed the declaration of partnership, which, inter alia, condemns the Russian occupation of Crimea and ongoing aggression in Donbas.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stated this at the joint press conference with Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg in Oslo, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Norway has been our reliable friend and strategic partner in the difficult times for Ukraine. And I have been very pleased to sign today with Mrs. Prime Minister the Declaration of Partnership between Ukraine and the Kingdom of Norway," Poroshenko said.

He noted that in this document the Norwegian side "clearly and unequivocally" condemned Russia with respect to the illegal occupation of Crimea and ongoing aggression in Donbas.

"Norway has assured of support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine," the President stressed.

While addressing the Head of the Norwegian Government, President Poroshenko expressed belief that such a clear position would also be an example for the EU Member States.
