Almost 12,000 children live in temporary occupied areas of Ukraine, Deputy Social Policy Minister Serhiy Ustymenko has said at parliamentary hearings on children rights in Ukraine.

“Almost 12,000 children still live in temporary occupied territories of Ukraine, in occupied Crimea or have moved to Russia and their destiny is unknown,” Ustymenko said, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

A reminder that as of October, 1.7 million internally displaced persons, including 236,000 children, were registered in Ukraine.
