President Poroshenko awarded 55 military personnel killed or wounded in fighting in Donbas

President Petro Poroshenko has given out state awards for personal courage and professionalism that was present in the defence of national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath by 55 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 21 of them - posthumously, the presidential press service has reported.

"Awards were presented to servicemen who were either killed or wounded in fighting near Avdiyivka, Zaytseve and other cities in the Donetsk and Luhansk areas," it said in a statement.

It is noted that the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky of the third degree was awarded to Captain Ruslan Mymrina and three more servicemen posthumously - Viktor Levkivsky, Lieutenant Oleh Dyachenko and Sergeant Pavlo Vozhdyeva.

The Order For Courage of the third degree was awarded 19 military personnel, 18 of them posthumously.

The President also awarded the military medal Defender of the Homeland to 32 soldiers.
