EU prolongs individual sanctions against representatives of Putin’s regime

On Thursday, governments of the European Union states have prolonged individual sanctions against Russian, Ukrainian and Crimean persons that are responsible for the infringement on independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, a source at the Council of Europe told own Ukrinform correspondent. 

“The European Union has prolonged by six months, till March 15, 2017, restrictive measures against persons and establishments involved in the infringement on independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” the source said.

There are 146 persons on the sanction list, including Russian officials, Ukrainian participants of terrorist organizations in Donbas, as well as Crimean representatives of the Russian regime, who are involved in the infringement on independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. These persons are banned from entering the territory of the European Union, and their assets have been blocked in member states. In addition, assets of 37 Russian companies have been frozen.
