PM Groysman: Ukraine has enough reserves to become energy independent

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman says that Ukraine has enough reserves to become an energy independent country.

The premier wrote this on Twitter, citing his speech at a meeting with representatives of regional mass media.

"One of the most important issues is the revival of national economy. We see large untapped reserves, one which is energy efficiency,” Groysman said.

According to him, Ukraine has enough reserves to achieve larger energy independence, but modernization should be carried out for this.

"We can use less and pay less, but for this we should invest in modernization," Groysman said.

At the same time, he assured that the prices of the Ukrainian gas, as well as the prices of foreign gas are formed on the world market and the Ukrainian Government doesn’t have any influence on this. The premier also added that in Ukraine "limit market gas prices" have been set.
