More details revealed about Afanasyev, Soloshenko’s release

The Kremlin press service reported after the fact that Putin had pardoned the Ukrainians Hennadiy Afanasyev and Yuri Soloshenko and exchanged them for Olena Hlishchynska and Vitaliy Didenko, according to the official site of the President of Russia.

"The president issued the decree pardoning Hennadiy Afanasyev, sentenced Dec. 17, 2014 by the Moscow City Court, setting him free him from jail. Another presidential decree had pardoned Yury Soloshenko convicted on Oct. 14, 2015 by the Moscow City Court, setting him free him from jail," the press service of the Kremlin reports.

It noted that both decree take effect from the date of their signing.

Ukraine’s Administration of the President announced the meeting of President Petro Poroshenko with the freed at the State Scientific Institution Scientific and Practical Centre for Preventive and Clinical Medicine.
