U.S. Deputy Secretary of State: Sanctions against Russia to remain in place

The United States of America will not lift the sanctions against Russia until Moscow fulfills all its obligations under the Minsk agreements.

U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken said this at the meeting with Romanian media in Bucharest, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Our position remains firm: the sanctions against Russia imposed by the US and EU may be lifted only after Moscow fulfills all its obligations under the Minsk agreements," Blinken said.

He added that "Russia's interference in the internal affairs of Georgia and Ukraine has not only violated the territorial integrity of these countries but also undermined the foundations of international law and world order."
