Ukraine’s representative in Donbas Contact Group ends mandate

Roman Bezsmertny, a representative of Ukraine in the political subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group on resolving the conflict in eastern Ukraine, has informed other parties that he has left the negotiation process.

"I have decided and informed all those involved [in the Minsk talks], from those who participate in the technological provision of the process and to the President, that I’m completing this stage in my life,” Bezsmertny said in an interview with the Yevropeyska Pravda online publication.

According to him, a new representative of Ukraine, Olha Aivazovska, was introduced to the subgroup and she is  expected to undertake Bezsmertny's duties.

Bezsmertny was a representative of Ukraine in the political subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group on resolving the situation in eastern Ukraine and held negotiations regarding the conditions of elections in the occupied territories of Donbas and on the possibility or impossibility of introducing amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine.
