Leadership of the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine, heads of regional and military prosecutor's offices of regions of Ukraine appealed to President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman with a letter in which they asked not to appoint a person without experience in the public prosecution bodies as a prosecutor general.

The text of the letter has been published on the official website of the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine.

As it is noted, the letter was written because of "grave concern over the statements of some representatives of non-governmental organizations and some politicians on the need for appointment of a person who had no experience in the public prosecution bodies for the post of a prosecutor general of Ukraine."

The letter was signed by current Deputies Prosecutor General Yuri Sevruk, Yuri Stolyarchuk, Roman Hovda and Oleh Zalysko, and more than 24 heads of regional prosecutor's offices.
