Poroshenko explains why he is against breach of relations with Russia

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko says he is against a breach of diplomatic relations with Russia, as there is no military solution for the de-occupation of Donbas and Crimea.

The president said this in an interview with the Ukrainian TV channels, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“I believe that this is obvious that the military solution for the de-occupation of Donbas and Crimea doesn’t exist. I’m the president of peace, and the efforts of Ukrainian diplomats are needed for the efficient provision of coordinated actions of Ukraine and those who support us in the world,” the president said.

Poroshenko also said that the Ukrainian diplomacy “is our strong side,” as it has achieved considerable success.

“Our consular representatives should protect interests of millions of Ukrainians that currently are in the Russian Federation, including Nadiya Savchenko,” he stressed.
