UN concerned about no progress in investigations into crimes on Maidan

The Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine has expressed concern about the absence of progress in investigations into crimes that took place on Maidan in 2014 and on May 2 in Odesa.

Fiona Frazer, head of the mission said during the 13th report on the human rights situation in Ukraine.

“We are deeply concerned that there is no progress in investigations into those killings taken place on Maidan two years ago, and on May 2 in Odesa,” Frazer said.

According to her, if the work is carried out incorrectly, then it could influence the security situation and undermine the people’s confidence in government.

According to the UN report, the only strategy to achieve peace in eastern Ukraine is to implement the Minsk peace agreements.
