Warsaw wants to summon NATO-Ukraine Presidential Council

The NATO-Ukraine Council at the level of Heads of State may be held in Warsaw during the NATO summit on July 8-9. This issue will be discussed during the meeting of the Consultative Committee of the Presidents of Ukraine and Poland in Warsaw on Friday.

This was stated by spokesman for the President of Poland Krzysztof Szczerski, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The Polish side wants to hold a formal meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council at the level of Heads of State during the summit in Warsaw," PAP news agency quotes Szczerski as saying.

He informed that a wide range of issues of bilateral and international cooperation would be discussed during the committee’s meeting.

"The security policy is the top-priority issue: the conflict in Ukraine, the prospects for eastern Ukraine and Crimea in the context of the Minsk Agreements," Szczerski said.
