EU Commissioner for humanitarian aid to visit Ukraine

European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, Christos Stylianides will pay a working visit to Ukraine in March.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for the issues of European integration Iryna Heraschenko wrote on Facebook.

“Today at a meeting in Brussels we have discussed with Mr. Christos the details of his forthcoming visit. We have thoroughly discussed the humanitarian situation in eastern Ukraine,” Heraschenko said.

According to her, Stylianides noted the worsening of humanitarian situation and security situation in Ukraine, which negatively influences possibilities of rendering aid to civilian population.

Heraschenko stressed that Ukraine considers the humanitarian aspect of the Minsk agreements as a priority: "I have informed the European Commissioner about the process of liberation of captives and the difficulties Ukraine faced with during the liberation of captives and the search for missing."
