Information policy ministry resumes "Radio Azov" broadcasting

The ministry of information policy will resume operations of "Radio Azov" - Ukrainian broadcaster covering the life of ethnic minorities.

"Radio Azov" will be allocated airtime on radio waves "The Voice of Donbas" radio that will be launched in Mariupol city in the spring. Next meeting of the Commission for maintenance of stable operations of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine will discuss issues and take the necessary decisions there," a statement said.

The ministry officials noted "Radio Azov" was aired under Ukrainian radio broadcasts. Currently its programs have been suspended due to lack of government funding. This issue was discussed during the meeting of the monitoring mission of the ministry with representatives from Mariupol Union of Journalists of Ukraine.

Mariupol municipal "Radio Azov" is the main source of news for the local population, and it also makes programs about the life of ethnic minorities and broadcasting programs for Ukrainian radio.
