Ukraine launches consultations with EU about transit of Russian trucks

Ukraine is holding consultations with representatives of the European Commission and some European Union countries regarding the transit of Russian cargo trucks through the territory of Ukraine, the press service of Ukraine’s Economic Development and Trade Ministry reports.  

"Because of the passage through the territory of Ukraine of cargo transport vehicles, registered in the Russian Federation, the Infrastructure Ministry after having considered this issue, initiates holding of daily meetings of the operational response headquarters with representatives of the Economic Development Ministry, the State Fiscal Service, the State Border Service, the National Police and some other corresponding agencies. Currently technical consultations with representatives of the European Commission and some EU member states are being carried out," the ministry’s statement reads.

Also, the Ukrainian government at its sitting on February 15 will make a relevant decision on the situation.
