Poroshenko: No alternative to Minsk Agreements

Ukraine and the United States share the view that there is no alternative to the Minsk process for settlement of the situation in Donbas.

This was stated by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko after four hours of the talks with U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden in Davos, the press service of the Head of State reports.

"We reached a conclusion that there is no alternative to the Minsk process. We enjoy full support from the United States regarding the implementation of the Minsk process," the Ukrainian President said.

At the talks in Davos, Poroshenko and Biden coordinated the actions with respect to the ceasefire in Donbas.

"We agreed to coordinate actions in order to ensure the ceasefire and provide access to the border and heavy weapons storage facilities for the OSCE SMM," Poroshenko said.

Considerable attention was also paid to the U.S. support for the Ukrainian reforms and intensification of military-technical cooperation. The President thanked the U.S. Vice President for the recent assistance in the amount of USD 23 million.

"We agreed to continue this cooperation," Petro Poroshenko informed.
