Amnesty for militants not discussed in Minsk – MP Herashchenko

The working groups in Minsk did not discuss any bills or documents on the amnesty for the participants in the armed conflict in Donbas.

MP Iryna Herashchenko, the representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian working subgroup within the Trilateral Contact Group on peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas, said this on the air of the Channel 5.

"There are many speculations around this issue. We're really studying the experience of many countries in pardoning, but no bill or document on amnesty has been ever discussed. It will be the prerogative of the Verkhovna Rada," she said.

The MP also noted that, according to the international experience, no country has granted amnesty during the conflict.
