Residents of Crimea, Donbas may be issued biometric passports – President

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko does not rule out that the residents of Donbas and Crimea will be able to get the biometric passports as well.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said this in an interview with Ukraine’s Inter TV channel, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Visa-free travels abroad are possible only on the biometric passports. I can emphasize that I do not rule out that some of the residents of Donbas and Crimea will be able to get the biometric passports, but these cases will be considered separately. In general, we can guarantee that all the Ukrainian citizens, residing in the temporarily occupied territories, will be issued the biometric passports and will get the right to visa-free travels after the Ukrainian sovereignty is restored," the President noted.
