Poroshenko and Tusk agree to extend sanctions against Russia

Sanctions against Russia should be prolonged till the full implementation of the Minsk Agreements.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and President of the European Council Donald Tusk discussed this issue at a joint meeting held in the course of the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris, the press service of the head of state reports.

“Petro Poroshenko and Donald Tusk agreed that sanctions against Russia should be extended until Russia fully implements its obligations under the Minsk Agreements,” reads a report.

President Tusk also noted that all EU member states opposed Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

The sides also discussed the development of situation in Syria and agreed that Russia's participation created problems rather than assisted in resolving them, according to the report.

In addition, President Poroshenko noted that in spite of the complicated situation in eastern Ukraine, the country was carrying out reforms and was showing a real progress.
