Poroshenko and Turnbull discuss creation of tribunal on Malaysian Boeing crash

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with Prime Minister of Australia Malcolm in Paris, during which the establishment of an international criminal tribunal for Malaysian Boeing crash was discussed.

“The sides paid special attention to the coordination of joint efforts to implement an initiative of Australia, Belgium, the Netherlands, Malaysia and Ukraine regarding the establishment of an international criminal tribunal for bringing into account of those guilty of MH17 tragedy,” reads a report.

President Poroshenko stressed that Ukraine would further assist in conducting criminal investigation, “as well as do everything it can to punish those guilty of the tragedy”.

The President also thanked Australia for its clear and continuing support in protecting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for the rendered practical assistance in this issue.

In addition, the sides agreed to intensify trade and economic cooperation.

President Poroshenko also invited the Prime Minister of Australia to pay and official visit to Ukraine.
