Leaders of Canada, France discuss situation in Ukraine}

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau raised the issue of Ukraine during the meeting with President of France Francois Hollande.

The spokesperson for the office of the Prime Minister said this to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"The two leaders discussed pressing international issues, including the situation in Ukraine, the humanitarian situation and security issues in Syria and Iraq, as well as European migration challenges," the source said.

In addition, the issues of economic cooperation between Canada and France were discussed.

Justin Trudeau and Canadian provincial leaders are now paying the visit to Paris within the 21st UN Climate Change Conference.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, who is going to participate in the Conference as well, already met with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

President Poroshenko told about the current developments in Donbas and emphasized the importance of maintaining transatlantic unity on the issue of preservation of sanctions against Russia till the full restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Canadian Prime Minister assured Poroshenko of the full support for the people of Ukraine and stressed the willingness to further exert pressure on Moscow, as well as to help Ukraine in every possible way, in particular, enhancing the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to resist modern challenges and threats.
