European Parliament welcomes Ukraine’s implementation of visa liberalization plan

The European Parliament welcomes the efforts of the Parliament of Ukraine to complete the implementation of the Action Plan on Visa Liberalization with the EU.

This is said in the statement of the European Parliament members, released on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent in Brussels reports.

"We welcome the adoption of the legislation package necessary for the positive assessment of the Action Plan on Visa Liberalization," chairman of the EP Foreign Affairs Committee Elmar Brok, rapporteur on Ukraine Jacek Saryusz-Wolski, and chairman of the EP delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee Andrej Plenkovic stated.

The MEPs positively assessed the constructive approach to this process by the Ukrainian Parliament’s factions.

"The effective functioning of the coalition and stable pro-European majority is the constant desire of the Ukrainian citizens," the parliamentarians stressed.

The MEPs also urged to settle yet unresolved issues as soon as possible for the European Commission to present the positive report on the visa-free regime for Ukraine by the end of the year.
