Long lines at Donetsk region checkpoints - people sleep in their cars}

Mile-long lines of cars are reported at the checkpoints for entry and exit in the Donetsk region. People are forced to spend their nights in the vehicles.

Donbass-SOS reports citing the information received from local residents.

A total of 150 cars reportedly had people sleeping in them at the checkpoint outside the city of Horlivka; there was little traffic observed. There are problems with  municipal transport. Priority to pass is given only to parents with babies and disabled persons.

The same situation is outside Hnutovo where about 100 cars are stuck at the checkpoint.

Facebook users write in their comments that lines have doubled compared to the summer because retirees are going en masse to reapply for their benefits debit cards.

Meanwhile, the State Border Guard Service proposes to open new checkpoints in the ATO zone to reduce long lines.

Resumption of the Stanychno-Luhansk walk through checkpoint does not fundamentally change the situation because because it served only 496 people yesterday.

The State Border Service considers it necessary to urgently reopen checkpoints at Kurakhove and Hnutove as well as the Lysychansk checkpoint.

A border patrol representative hopes that in November these issues will be resolved.
