Poroshenko: Kazakhstan is ‘window to Asia' for Ukraine, while Ukraine is ‘window to Europe’ for Kazakhstan

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has called Kazakhstan one of the closest partners of Ukraine.

The president said this after the Ukrainian-Kazakh talks held during his visit to Astana, the press service of the head of state reported.

“Today it has been demonstrated that Kazakhstan is ‘a window to Asia’ for Ukraine, and I hope that Ukraine is ‘a window to Europe’ for Kazakhstan. We have huge potential of bilateral relations in the economic, humanitarian, social and other spheres,” Poroshenko told reports.

He called the carried out talks as profound, practical and efficient.

“The results of our meeting open new, very important page, important stage of the Ukrainian-Kazakh cooperation,” the Ukrainian president said.

Poroshenko also paid special attention to a political dialog between Ukraine and Kazakhstan and expressed gratitude for the steady support of territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine from the side of Kazakhstan.
