On January 17, a drone about 2.5 meters long was discovered on the shore of a lake in Moldova's Telenesti district.

Newsmaker stated this in an article, Ukrinform reports.

The General Inspectorate of Police said that a hunter contacted law enforcement after reporting that he had found a drone on the shore of a lake near the village of Nucareni.

Special services arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area.

Later, police established that it was a Russian "Gerbera" type drone.

"Explosive ordnance specialists examined the aircraft. It is a 'Gerbera' type drone. It was not equipped with explosives and did not pose a danger to citizens," the police said. However, law enforcement urged the public not to approach or touch such objects.

As Ukrinform previously reported, Russian drones have repeatedly violated Moldova's airspace and crashed on its territory. The two most recent incidents occurred last November: on the night of November 19, a Russian drone entered Moldova's territory, after which the Russian ambassador was summoned to the Foreign Ministry in Chisinau.

On November 25, a crashed drone was found in the village of Cuhurestii de Jos in northern Moldova.
