Poroshenko: 38 military medics not returned from ATO combat zone

About 3,500 military doctors took part in the emergency medical support in the ATO zone.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said this during his speech at the solemn event on the occasion of the Day of Medical Worker at the 66th military mobile hospital in Donbas, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"About 3,500 military medics took part in the emergency medical support on the front line in the combat zone, more than 200 of them were injured, 248 military doctors were awarded with state awards," Poroshenko said.

At the same time, 38 doctors, unfortunately, did not return from the battlefield, the President added.

He noted that Ihor Zinych was among them, the Hero of Ukraine, a 25-year-old sanitary instructor who refused to return home and stayed to assist the fellowmen who fought at the Donetsk airport.
