Russian propaganda invents ‘pro-Russian partisans’ in Ukraine

Propagandists pass off a train explosion in Bryansk region as 'work of partisans' in Odesa region

Pro-Kremlin media, z-Telegram channels, and pro-Russian bots on the social network X are spreading photos of a burnt-out train that has derailed. The propagandists claim that the footage was taken near Odesa and that it was transporting "Western military aid" to Ukraine.

Russian propagandists claim that this work is the result of “pro-Russian partisans” who are anticipating “the arrival of Russia”.

This is a fake. There are no pro-Russian partisans in Ukraine. The original photo was taken on May 1, 2023 in the Unecha district of Russia’s Bryansk region. The locomotive derailed after an unknown explosive device detonated.

The group on the "pro-Russian resistance" Telegram channel, which propagandists refer to, has only seven subscribers.

Earlier, a fake was created in Senegal about Ukraine’s alleged secret purchase of "weapons-grade uranium" from Niger to create nuclear weapons.
