Eurovision 2017 officially opened

In Kyiv, the official opening ceremony of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 was held on Sunday evening.

The event was held in the Parkovy Exhibition and Congress Centre, where one of three official locations of the contest, Euroclub, is located, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

At the beginning of the event the guests were congratulated by First Lady of Ukraine Maryna Poroshenko, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klichko and Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest Jon Ola Sand.

Winner of Eurovision 2016 Jamala, Oleh Skrypka, Druha Rika band and Winner of Eurovision 2004 Ruslana performed at the opening event, however, the journalists did not get to this part.

After the official ceremony, the celebration continued with a party with current Eurovision participants from four countries: Robin Bengtsson from Sweden, Isaiah from Australia, Nathan Trent from Austria and Lindita from Albania.

As reported, the semifinals of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 will be held at the International Exhibition Center on May 9 and 11 and the final - on May 13.
