Kyiv ready for Eurovision, Mayor Klitschko says

Kyiv has fulfilled its obligations to the organizers of the Eurovision Song Contest and is ready to host the song contest.

Mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko said this on the air of TV Channel 1+1, the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration reported.

"We have fulfilled all obligations assumed by the city authorities. All the commitments to the organizers of the song contest, including territory near the International Exhibition Center, approach roads, security, fan zones, have been completely fulfilled," Klitschko said.

He recalled that the capital allocated UAH 200 million for holding of the song contest in addition to investments in infrastructure. "These are new parks, squares, territory near the arena. We have invested in our city. Eurovision contest will end, and this will remain for the residents of Kyiv," the mayor said.

According to him, the city pays attention to the creation of conditions for the movement of people with special needs and the organization of barrier-free space.
