Severe weather leaves more than 100 communities in 10 regions without power

As of the morning of April 24, more than 100 communities in 10 regions were without power due to adverse weather conditions; Russian attacks have left users in five regions without power.

According to Ukrinform, NPC Ukrenergo reported this on Facebook.

“Due to adverse weather conditions (strong gusts of wind), as of this morning, more than 100 settlements in the Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kirovohrad, Sumy, Poltava, Cherkasy, and Mykolaiv regions are completely or partially without power,” the statement reads.

It is noted that regional power company crews are already repairing damaged power lines.

In addition, as a result of Russian drone attacks, users in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Odesa regions are without power as of this morning. Power crews have begun restoration work wherever the security situation permits.

As of 9:30 a.m. on Friday, electricity consumption is 3.5% higher than the previous day. This is due to cold weather persisting across Ukraine and high cloud cover in most regions, both of which reduce the efficiency of residential solar power plants.

“The need for energy saving remains today. Please limit the use of high-power electrical appliances from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.,” the power system operator emphasized.

As reported by Ukrinform, Ukrenergo does not forecast any power outages on April 24.
