Pipeline accident occurs on Paton Bridge in Kyiv, some residents without heating
A heating pipeline was damaged on Paton Bridge in the capital, leaving residents of two neighborhoods without heat.
According to Ukrinform, the Kyiv City State Administration reported this on Telegram.
“Today at 7:30 a.m., a coolant leak was detected, causing steam to form. Due to the unique layout of the network directly beneath the bridge structure, the work will be carried out by rope access technicians,” the statement said.
It is noted that during the repairs, heat supply to residential buildings in the Rusanivka and Bereznyaky neighborhoods has been temporarily suspended. Heat supply will be restored immediately upon completion of the work.
As previously reported, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine stated that repairs to the Paton Bridge must be undertaken without delay. For its part, the Kyiv City State Administration stated that the Paton Bridge across the Dnipro River in Kyiv can continue to be used, provided that the previously established vehicle restrictions remain in effect.
