Power outage halts metro trains, escalators in Kyiv
In Kyiv, metro train services and escalators were temporarily suspended due to a loss of voltage from external power supply centers.
According to Ukrinform, the Kyiv City State Administration announced this on Telegram.
The authorities said an additional update would be provided once operations are restored.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that underground metro stations were currently operating as shelters.
"In Kyiv, as in many cities across Ukraine, emergency power outages are in place. Metro services have been suspended due to low voltage in the grid. Underground metro stations can currently operate as shelters (on backup power for the stations)," he wrote on Telegram.
