Man detonates grenade on train in Zhytomyr region, casualties reported – media
A man detonated a grenade on a commuter train in Ovruch, Zhytomyr region, resulting in deaths and injuries.
That's according to Suspilne, which cited Ivanna Siletska, press officer for the Zhytomyr regional police directorate, Ukrinform reports.
"Investigation and operational teams from the Zhytomyr regional police directorate and Ovruch police department No. 1 of the Korosten district police are working at the scene. All circumstances of the incident are being established," Siletska said.
According to other media outlets citing unnamed sources, four people have reportedly been killed and two injured in the accident. Preliminary information suggests that the man who detonated the grenade was wanted by the authorities.
Earlier, in the Khmelnytskyi region, a 31-year-old man was sentenced to six years in prison for throwing a live grenade into his neighbor's house.
