Teen killed, six injured in road accident involving 15-year-old driver in Kyiv region

In the village of Myhalky, Kyiv region, a 14-year-old boy was killed and six other minors were injured in a road accident involving a 15-year-old driver.

According to Ukrinform, the Kyiv regional police reported this on Facebook.

Preliminary findings showed that the 15-year-old driver of an Opel Vectra, while driving along Shevchenka Street, lost control of the vehicle, veered into a ditch, and crashed into a tree.

The 14-year-old passenger died at the scene. Six other minors who were in the car sustained injuries and were hospitalized.

Police officers, rescuers, and medical teams responded to the scene.

Investigators with the Kyiv regional police department have launched a pre-trial investigation under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation by a driver resulting in the death of a victim).
