One killed, one injured in shooting in Kyiv region – police

One man was killed and another injured in a shooting incident in Fastiv, Kyiv region, the regional police said.

According to investigators, a conflict broke out between a 53-year-old local resident and two other men - a father and son. The 53-year-old suspect left the scene, retrieved a firearm from his home, returned, and opened fire, Ukrinform reports.

A local police prevention chief, who was off duty and witnessed the incident, detained the shooter on the spot and called for medical assistance. The weapon has been seized.

The 28-year-old victim later died in hospital, while his father is receiving medical treatment.

Investigators have launched criminal proceedings over attempted murder of two or more persons, intentional homicide, and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.
