Apartment burns down in Dniprovskyi district of Kyiv, one person killed

An apartment in the Dniprovskyi district of Kyiv was on fire, a woman died, and five other people were evacuated.

The Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kyiv reported this on Facebook, Ukrinform reported.

On January 27, at 7:46 a.m., a fire was reported at Andriy Malyshko Street, 27.

The fire started in one of the apartments on the 3rd floor of a 9-storey residential building.

"During the extinguishing of the fire, the victim was evacuated from the 3rd floor using a ladder. Unfortunately, the woman died in the ambulance. Also, five people were evacuated from the upper floors," the statement said.

The fire was extinguished at 8:44 a.m. over an area of 35 square meters. The cause and circumstances of its occurrence will be established by law enforcement officers.

As reported, on January 26, employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine rescued four people, including a child, during a fire in an apartment in Kyiv.
