Storm leaves almost 100 Ukrainian settlements in five regions in blackout

Due to the adverse weather conditions, electricity supplies were suspended to 98 populaces across five Ukrainian regions, while 14,500 power consumers remain de-energized due to the ongoing hostilities in Donetsk region.

This was reported by the Ministry of Energy, Ukrinform saw.

"Due to adverse weather conditions, power was cut off in 98 settlements in Kyiv, Poltava, Sumy, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions. Most of them are in Sumy region, where more than 8,000 households remain without electricity," the message says.

Also, 14,500 consumers lost access to electricity due to ongoing shelling in Donetsk region. In addition, as a result of hostilities, part of consumers in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions remain without energy supply.

In Kherson, 1,200 households main without power after the latest flooding. Repair work has been slowed down by Russian shelling.

Also, power supply was suspended yesterday to 13,200 consumers in Dnipropetrovsk region and almost 3,000 in the Kirovohrad region due to technological disruptions. The repair work has been completed.

As reported, as a result of the Russian strike overnight Wednesday, October 25, two buildings at the premises of the Khmelnytskyi nuclear power plant sustained damaged.
