Five Ukrainians injured in road accident in Moldova - MFA

Five Ukrainian citizens received minor injuries in a road accident that occurred in Moldova on the morning of April 8. There is no threat to their lives.

Ukrinform learnt this from spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oleg Nikolenko.

"Today, a road accident occurred in Drochia District in Moldova involving a bus traveling from Chisinau to Kyiv. As a result of the road accident, five Ukrainian citizens received minor injuries. They were taken to the hospital, now they are receiving the necessary medical assistance, there is no threat to their lives," he said.

Nikolenko added that other passengers continued their journey to Kyiv by bus provided by the carrier. In total, there were nineteen Ukrainians on the bus.

The spokesman also said that the Ukrainian embassy interacts with Moldovan law enforcers in order to find out all the circumstances of the accident and keeps in touch with doctors.

"After the treatment ends, consuls will help our citizens return to Ukraine," he assured.

As reported, a regular bus heading from Chisinau to Kyiv overturned in Drochia District in Moldova on the morning of April 8. The accident happened around 09:40. The police officers who arrived at the scene found that the bus driver lost control and crashed into a tree, and then drove into a ditch.
