Over 200 towns and villages in Ukraine left without electricity due to bad weather

As of Friday morning, August 9, some 205 populated areas in six regions of Ukraine were left without electricity due to bad weather conditions, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine has reported.

“Bad weather conditions (strong wind, rain, and thunderstorm) caused blackouts in 205 populated areas in six regions, in particular: Sumy region – 95 populated areas, Kyiv region – 38, Cherkasy region – 26, Chernihiv region – 22, Zhytomyr region – 21, and Kirovohrad region – 3,” reads the report.

Emergency teams of regional power distribution companies were involved in carrying out the necessary repairs to resume electricity supply.
