Ukraine’s Emergency Service warns of avalanche risk in Carpathians
On March 15-18, significant avalanche danger is expected in mountainous areas of Zakarpattia and Ivano-Frankivsk regions due to precipitation, snowstorm and thaw.
The State Emergency Service reported this with reference to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center's forecasts.
“Considerable (III) level of avalanche risk is expected in the mountainous areas of Zakarpattia and Ivano-Frankivsk regions due to due to precipitation, snowstorm, and then thaw,” the report says.
