Strong winds cause blackouts in 537 towns and villages in Ukraine

As of March 12, 537 populated areas in 15 regions of Ukraine remained without electricity due to bad weather conditions, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported.

"Bad weather conditions (strong winds) caused blackouts in 537 populated areas in 5 regions, in particular: Kyiv region - 168 populated areas, Khmelnytskyi region - 102, Vinnytsia region - 58, Cherkasy region - 56, Zhytomyr region - 56, Poltava region - 28, Sumy region - 20, Ternopil region - 11, Donetsk region - 10, Kirovohrad region - 7, Chernivtsi region - 5, Lviv region - 4, Luhansk region - 4, Dnipropetrovsk region - 4, Chernihiv region – 4,” the statement says.

Emergency teams of regional power distribution companies have started to conduct needed repairs to resume electricity supply.
