Almost 4,000 explosives disposed since start of year – Emergency Service

In January-February 2019, explosive ordnance disposal teams of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine have found and disposed 3,977 explosive devices, the press service of the State Emergency Service reports.

“Explosive ordnance disposal teams of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine are conducting works on clearing the territory, detecting and disposing of explosive devices, including remnants of previous wars. Thus, as of March 5, 2019, military suppers detected and disposed 3,977 explosives, including 39 areal bombs,” reads the report.

In addition, humanitarian demining is carried out in the liberated territories of Donetsk and Luhansk region.

In particular, on March 4, explosive ordnance disposal teams cleared the territory of one hectare in Donetsk region, where one artillery shell was found and removed. On the same day in Luhansk region, the territory of 6.89 hectares was cleared and 32 explosives detected.
