Emergency Service: 28 people saved, over 2,000 fires extinguished in last week

The units of the State Emergency Service (SES) of Ukraine saved 28 people and extinguished over 2,000 fires during the last week, from August 13 to August 19, the SES press service reported.

“During the last week, the SES units responded to 2,896 accidents. As a result of these interventions, 28 persons were saved, 2,348 fires were extinguished. A total of 16 persons were rescued from fire, and fire was prevented from spreading to 505 buildings and 44 units of equipment. At the same time, 14 persons died from fires. According to the latest data, estimated losses from fire make up about UAH 250,000,” reads the report.

It is also noted that the SES pyrotechnic units detected and disposed 1,776 explosive devices from the past wars.

Also, the SES reported that 63 persons died on water in the last week.
