Ukrainian rescuers to get four helicopters from France this year – Poroshenko

France plans to transfer four air rescue helicopters for the needs of Ukrainian rescuers.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said this during his working trip to Rivne region, where he handed over new equipment to the units of the State Emergency Service, the president’s press service reported.

"A Memorandum of Intent on the purchase of helicopters will be signed. This is another important step in providing rescuers, so that they will be able to quickly get to the wounded and provide assistance," Poroshenko said.

According to the president, this year the State Emergency Service will receive the first four helicopters, including the medical one for the evacuation of the wounded persons and the rescue one.
