Foreign Ministry to help Ukrainians ready to leave Kabul

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has said that all Ukrainians who want to leave Kabul will be given such an opportunity.

He said this during a final press conference in Kyiv on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"We told everyone who wants to leave and we will ensure this... For our part, we guarantee this to all those who want to leave. This is also an order to our consul, who is now working," Klimkin said.

He also added that Ukrainians had now been moved to a military base and that some of them had returned to the hotel.

"We moved all to a military base, I will not say how many, but now some of our citizens decided to return to the hotel. This is their personal decision after they received assurances about the security situation," Klimkin said.

As reported, 18 people, including 14 foreigners, were killed in a terrorist attack on Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul on January 20. Two attackers are also among the dead.

According to the latest official figures, the total number of people killed in the terrorist attack is 43, including seven Ukrainian citizens.
