State Emergency Service warns of high avalanche risk in Carpathians

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine has issued warnings for mountainous areas in Zakarpattia, where there is a high avalanche danger due to the thaw.

The State Emergency Service reported this with reference to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center’s forecasts.

“On December 28-29, a considerable (III) level of avalanche risk is expected in the Carpathian mountains due to the thaw,” the report reads.
