State Emergency Service warns of high avalanche risk in Ukrainian Carpathians

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine has issued warnings for mountainous areas in Zakarpattia, where possible avalanches are expected today.

“On December 13, a considerable (III) level of avalanche risk is expected in the Carpathian mountains. There is a danger of snow slide near roads,” the State Emergency Service reported, referring to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center’s forecasts.
