Investigators name three major scenarios behind terrorist attack in Kyiv

Investigators are considering three major scenarios behind a terrorist attack outside the office of the Espreso.TV channel in Kyiv, in which two people were killed.

Kyiv's First Deputy Prosecutor Pavlo Kononenko stated this at a press conference on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The first scenario is an attempt to kill [MP Ihor] Mosiychuk, which was organized by the Russian special services. We can say about this as soon as we identify criminals. The second scenario is Mosiychuk's political activities and his public position in our country. The third scenario is an attempt on Mosiychuk's life for personal motives," he said.

At the same time, Kononenko said that investigators also did not reject the scenario that political scientist Vitaliy Bala could be a target of criminals.

"And we cannot reject the scenario of the assassination attempt on any public and political figure who was on the Espreso.TV channel, at that time, as well as some of the journalists," he added.

As reported, five people, including MP Ihor Mosiychuk and political analyst Vitaliy Bala, were injured in an explosion outside the office of the Espreso TV channel in Kyiv late on October 25. Mosiychuk's security guard later died on his way to hospital. It was reported on October 26 that a passerby named Mykhailo had also been killed in the incident.
