Three people die, one injured in car explosion incident in Lviv region

A Mercedes 124 car parked at the Sambir-Drohobych highway exploded in western Lviv region in the early morning on July 14. As a result three people died, the Department of Civil Protection at the Lviv Regional Administration.

"On July 14, at around 00.30 the Mercedes 124 exploded without further burning between Raylivka and Kulchytsi villages. The vehicle was parked on the road side. Three individuals were killed and one person injured in the blast (two people died at the scene, one person died in a hospital)," the report said.

It is noted that another victim is in critical condition in a Sambir town hospital.

The identities of the victims are being clarified.

Police say an explosive device of unknown origin exploded in the trunk of the Mercedes.
