Yalta schools prolong vacations amid Crimean blackout

In the occupied Crimean city of Yalta, school vacations have been extended until December 4.

The resolution was made at a meeting of the city commission on emergencies, the press service of the administration of Yalta reported.

"Suspend functioning of pre-schools and secondary schools from November 30, 2015 to December 4, 2015 inclusively," the minutes of the extraordinary meeting of the commission noted.

According to the "head of the administration" Andriy Rostenko, a resumption of the educational process depends on the central heating.

About 1.157 million people in Crimea are without power supply now.

Due to the blockade, the occupying "authorities" have declared a break in kindergartens and schools. Starting from  December 1 the Peninsula health resorts will suspend check-ins of tourists.
